Abstract

The Aseer region, located in the southwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is considered one of the regions whose climatic characteristics, in particular, temperatures and rains, can develop certain agricultural activities such as cereals, fodder, fruits and vegetables.

This study aims to study the annual, seasonal and monthly characteristics of the temperature and rainfall period 1999-2020 and compare them to the needs of winter durum wheat agriculture. The thermal averages of the three stations show the relative compatibility of these with the needs of this gasoline in the Abha and Khamis Mushait stations, unlike the Bisha station where temperatures are an obstacle.

As for the rain, the non-inadequacy concerns the three stations. However, the lack of rain can be overcome by irrigation. So we focus on temperatures especially extreme data. By comparing the maximum and minimum temperatures of these stations with the thermal requirements of the different durum wheat growth stages of germination, start of branching, growth, flowering and maturity, we find that thermal minima are often in effect. adequacy with the requirements of these stages unlike the maximums which are generally higher, especially at the Bisha station.
